Technical Guidance on Identification of Endangered Marine Biodiversity using Genetic Method with Balai Pengelolaan Sumberdaya Pesisir dan Laut (BPSPL) Denpasar
Genetic research is very important in the management and conservation of endangered animals. Genetic data can provide important information about population dynamics, genetic diversity, and potential threats to the prevention of trade in protected animals.
In collaboration with Balai Pengelolaan Sumberdaya Pesisir dan Laut (BPSPL) Denpasar, BIONESIA held a technical guidance session on identifying endangered marine biodiversity using genetic methods. This activity aims to share information about genetic techniques used as tools in identifying endangered species, such as protected shark products, stranded mammals, and cryptic species identification.
The activities were conducted through presentation materials, laboratory practice, and genetic data analysis and interpretation. These activities were held at the BPSPL Denpasar office and attended by BPSPL Denpasar staff.
