Students will be involved in various laboratory activities and molecular data analysis, such as :
Basic & Advanced Laboratory Techniques:
- DNA extraction from animal or plant tissue samples
- DNA amplification with PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) method at specific gene locus (ex: COI, Control region, rbcL, ITS, etc.)
- Agarose gel electrophoresis and documentation of amplification results
Genetic Data Analysis:
- DNA sequence editing and analysis
- Species identification using BLAST from GenBank database and BOLD System
- Construction and interpretation of phylogenetic tree
Mini Research Project:
Participants work on independent projects related to local species and genetic conservation issues (which can be thesis topics).
