Capacity Building
“Capacity building for Sustainable Biodiversity Conservation”
Capacity Building Programs is a strategic initiative to improve the capacity of individuals, communities, and local institutions to understand, protect, and manage Indonesian biodiversity with sustainability. This program is designed as a forum for knowledge development, technical skills, and strengthening networks among stakeholders involved in conservation and molecular genetics.
Through a participatory and science-based approach, this program has various activities such as:
Training in Conservation Techniques and Molecular Genetics (DNA Barcoding, eDNA, biological sample management, and bioinformatics analysis), Workshop on Biodiversity Mapping and Monitoring, Environmental Education for Local Communities and Assistance for Conservation Community.
This program is available for students, junior researchers, government officials, environmental NGOs, and local communities as the frontline of conservation. By improving human resource capacity, trough this program we build collaboration between science, policy, and action.
Main Purpose of the Program:
Improve technical competence in biodiversity conservation and research, Raise awareness of environmental issues among the younger generation and Build cross sector collaboration to support data-based conservation policy.
Through this program, BIONESIA is committed to build a strong foundation for the future of Indonesian biodiversity conservation based on the principles of equality, participation, and science.
INTERNSHIP
BIONESIA offers internship opportunity for undergraduate students who are interest to develope their skills in molecular genetics, especially in biodiversity conservation. The program aims to provide hands-on experience in animal and plant DNA analysis, which is important in species identification, conservation, and biological resource management.

Workshop and Training
“Improve knowledge of the younger generation in Conservation and Biotechnology” Workshop & Training program is one of BIONESIA’s main programs, which aims to provide students, junior researchers, and the community with skills and knowledge about biodiversity conservation, molecular genetics, and environmental biotechnology. Through hands-on training in laboratories and in the field, participants will gain relevant practical experience to research and conservation.
